Hello and Happy New Year!
Last year I hit the ground running when I launched myself into the world of self-publishing. It was hard work, but great fun — and I’m happy to say that the effort is starting to pay off.
This year, I have several new projects planned. I’ll be releasing a book of exercises to accompany the three books in the French Fantastique series. There will also be a follow-up to My Dordogne Life, featuring many more of the places I explored in the Dordogne last year, along with deeper insights into everyday French life.
I’m also working on a beginner’s book for learning English, written in French, which I’m very excited about.
And finally — the pièce de résistance — my first novel: a family saga set among the vineyards of Bergerac. I began this book last year, but with so many other projects underway, it had to be set aside for a while. I can’t wait to return to it in the next few days.
My own French family lies at the heart of this story — and so does an object of theirs that I uncovered, quite unexpectedly, in the loft of my own home. That discovery changed everything… and for now, that’s all I’m saying.
I can already feel myself becoming a bit of a writing recluse in 2026 — and I’m perfectly happy with that. I’ll be doing what I love, in a country I love, with my husband and our two cats to keep me company.
Until next month,
Janice
