Relatable and Inspiring

What a fantastic review from this French Canadian lady who describes my book as “Relatable and inspiring”.

This book was definitely not what I expected.  When I first picked it up, I expected a tour of the Dordogne’s countryside and what things to see and expect, along with what it was like to live in this area.  For me, it was a reminder of where my heart is often and especially throughout my long winters in Calgary.  I wanted to see which places I had already visited, and make a bucket list of some new ones that Mom and I could see and experience together when I’m staying with her.

Surprise!!  Instead, I found a heartfelt story interlaced with a much warmer perspective of visiting the area and how to experience it as a local rather than just a tourist.  This story was very relatable and inspiring.  It warmed me from the inside out. Then it registered in my head just how courageous she was to venture out on this new journey on her own, not knowing what was in store for her, but knowing it was where her heart lived and she needed to return to.  Since then, I’ve been raving about this book to everyone. It is a must read even if you never plan on visiting France.

And this one…

“Wonderful book – makes me want to move there too. Or at least spend a month instead of a week!”
