I’m thrilled to share that I recently sat down for a wonderful interview to talk about My Dordogne Life!
The interview was conducted by Christianne Boudreau from Hope Regained.
Christianne instantly put me at ease and we chatted about what inspired me to write the book, the magic of village life in southwest France and what it truly means to begin again in a place that feels both foreign and home.

Excerpt from Chapter 1 of My Dordogne Life
It was Thursday and, as had been the case every Thursday since 1270, the weekly market had completely taken over.
Directly below my window, an accordion player was sitting on a low stone wall outside the tourist office, his instrument case laid out on the cobbles in front of him. As he pushed and squeezed his instrument, he gently rocked forward and back, playing his own version of Stevie Wonder’s Isn’t She Lovely.
A lady wearing a blue dress and chequered pink apron was busy setting up rows of mouth-watering melons. There were stalls selling every kind of fruit and vegetable. From my vantage point I could see baskets of beefeater tomatoes and mounds of furry peaches. There were yellow courgettes, bunches of spring onions and fat cucumbers sat beside heaps of curly, green beans. Over on the other side of the square I could see the stalls that sold olives flavoured with sun-dried tomatoes, pickled garlic cloves and lettuces that looked like huge flower heads. Dried saucissons (a dry-cured sausage similar to Salami) hung from yellow and pink parasols, swinging in the breeze above bouquets of giant white daisies, trays of red geraniums and bundles of fresh herbs stuffed into buckets of water…
